Semarang, September 9, 2026 — Two research papers by lecturers from Universitas Siber Muhammadiyah (SiberMu) were successfully presented at the 2nd International Conference on Sharia Economic Law (ICOSHEL 2026). The conference was organized by the Association of Sharia Economic Law Study Programs and Lecturers of Indonesia (POSDHESI) in collaboration with the Faculty of Sharia and Law, UIN Walisongo Semarang. At the conference, Afriansyah Tanjung, S.H., M.Kn., M.H., a lecturer in the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Law through Distance Education at SiberMu, received the Best Presenter Award in Chamber 5. He presented a paper entitled: “Digitalizing Substantive Halal Compliance: Building a Transparent Muslim-Friendly Tourism Ecosystem through Verification, Monitoring, and Consumer Feedback.” The paper presents the findings of collaborative research conducted by Afriansyah Tanjung, Agniya Thahira, Muhammad Rosidin, and Indah Novitasari SJ. It examines the development of a transparent Muslim-friendly tourism ecosystem by integrating substantive halal compliance with digital verification, continuous monitoring, and consumer feedback mechanisms. |

Another notable achievement was earned by Agniya Thahira, S.M., M.M who received the Best Presenter Award in Room 6 for presenting her research paper entitled: “Circular Business Model Innovation for Sustainable Halal Industry Performance: The Roles of Substantive Halal Compliance and Digital Halal Traceability—A Conceptual Framework.” The study introduces a conceptual framework that integrates circular business model innovation, substantive halal compliance, and digital halal traceability to support the sustainable performance of the halal industry.
The presentation of these two research papers and the receipt of two Best Presenter awards demonstrate the academic commitment and research capabilities of SiberMu lecturers at the international level. These achievements also reflect the university’s continued efforts to promote relevant, innovative, and impactful research, particularly in the fields of halal governance, digital transformation, sustainability, and Sharia economic law.
Universitas Siber Muhammadiyah hopes that this accomplishment will encourage its academic community to remain productive in conducting and disseminating high-quality research. The knowledge and insights generated through such academic activities are also expected to strengthen the quality of teaching and enrich the learning experience of SiberMu students.
